Frame skip won't work..?

When i try to turn on the frame skipping to speed up the game, it still counts 60 frames per second, but slowed down to 50-ish quite often, and it is very unstable. in short: the frame-skip feature does not work. on my previous version, i could se the frame-found go down to 30 and the game running smooth, but now it shows a value between 45 and 60 and is super unstable.
Any tips on this and/or any performance-tips for a mac not really ment for this?

your profile says you have an i5 in your system, can you tell us the model number?
also, certain games run at 30FPS and other ones run at 50, 60, etc. the other game was at 30 and running smooth because that was the maximum framerate. your profile says you are using the Intel HD3000, which leads me to believe it's a CPU bottleneck b/c that igpu isn't used on haswell/maxwell processors iirc.

try making the frameskipping on "auto".

Model number as in my mac? (Macbook pro 13" no retina, early 2011)
I dont know the model number of the i5. whatever comes standard.
I only use dolphin for super smash bros melee, witch without frame-skip should always run at 60. what i ment was that on my previous dolphin software (i updated recently) i could use the frame skip, and it would run at normal speed at 30 frames/sec. it is officers not as smooth as 60 but it is at least in real time. after i updated frameskip does not seam to activate at all. it does not change anything wether i put it on 1 or 9. i can't find a "auto" option.
anyway i can make this work/work around it?

I´ve just found somthing about frameskipping: if you use numbers like 1, 3, 5, etc. there are going to be jumps between frames (-very- noticeable ones). If the number set is something like 2 or 4, graphics will go somewhat faster and more fluid. (Just tried that on 4.0-6266 and 4.0-6426, with SSBB and SMG).
