HI im trying to record on my mac with frame dumping but im having trouble. I used tutorials but they didnt really help, possibly because they were all for windows. I got to the point where I recorded the input, selected frame/audio dump, and played back the input so that it would dump the video into the dump/frames folder. However, the file my frames were stored in will not play with quicktime player or import into premier. How would i be able to fix my problem? (for reference, the file saved as a .avi) Was it a mistake with recording the frames or saving them?

You probably just need to download codecs that will properly play the file. Try to find a better media player.

macOS doesn't have MPC-HC.
I'm not going to recommend CLI programs to a user, so mplayer is out. The only frontend for mplayer on OS X was found to have malware. I'm aware VLC isn't ideal. Go away 02-25-2017, 10:40 PM
Wow, I didn't know Mac had it so bad for video players. My apologies, VLC away
