Hi there everyone!

I recently got the Dolphin emulator working on my PC, everything runs amazingly. Except one issue, where between screens the frame drop goes all the way down to 0, and it causes grinding audio for a couple of seconds while it loads into the next area.

I'm currently playing Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for the first time, and I'm noticing it a lot with that. The gameplay itself is perfect, I never have any issues going into buildings, or getting into battles, there is no slow downs in the game other than when I go between screens. Which I want to eliminate if possible, as I plan to eventually record a series on it.

At first I thought I'd put the settings too high, but no matter what I do with the settings. It just always seems to do it. I think there is something I just haven't turned on, or I may have overlooked.

If you need video footage on this, so you can see and hear what I mean. I can get that for you.

Thank you for any help!

If you turned on "Speed Up Disc Transfer Rate", turn it off. If you're using custom textures, try turning them off as well to check if they're the issue.

Hi JosJuice, thank you so much for getting back to me so quick. I'm not using any custom textures for any of the games, and sorry for the stupid question but what section of the settings does "speed up disc transfer rate" appear under? As I'm having trouble finding it? Is that on automatically after installation?

It's only available in the game-specific settings and it does not default to on.

Ahhh I see, thank you! Yeah I didn't have it on. It just doesn't seem to matter what my settings are, I've tried different backends, resolutions, aspect ratios, clock override etc. It just seems to dip between screens and then does the audio tear and then it goes back to normal. It's a not huge issue, but if I can figure it out. I'd like to remove it.

edit: I tried out Twilight Princess, and that works perfect. I also tried Pokemon Colosseum and Gale of Darkness. They have the same sort of issue when going on the menu, it slows down and audio tears. Colosseum runs better than Gale of Darkness. I think there might be something that I'm missing somewhere.
