Thanx Core2uu, thats what I needed. I'll downclock my e7400 from 3.6ghz to 3.16 to see, u did your part. Now if someone have quad core.....
PS: So it seems 4870 is quicker than gtx-260 in dolphin? Could it really be true?!

Well, note that KHRZ's settings (and your settings too, obviously) could have been different than mine. Test with the EXACT same settings as mine (like use the same build, use x64 etc. etc.) and see what you get. Keep your E7400 clocked at 3.6Ghz and check and see.
Windows 7 RC Build 7100 x64 || Windows Vista SP2 x64
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16Ghz) ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB (750Mhz/900Mhz) OCZ Vista Gold 4GB RAM (2x2GB) DDR2-800 Asus P5QL-E OCZ GameXStream 600W
I know. Just tested on 3.16ghz. My settings are x64, dual core ON, 640x480, but am using standard windows build downloadable from dolphin site, which is older than your custom build. Still, I got ~23fps right there without moving Mario, while only ~26fps on 3.6ghz. Also my cpu wasnt fully loaded, I got 1 core at about 95% under 3.15ghz and about 85% under 3.6ghz and second was always somewhere around 50%. And that 3fps could even be by lowering FSB from 400>333mhz and not cpu clock itself. There must be some part in emulator that is blocking throughput by inefficiently transfering data, IMO. My gpu is also limiting but I still thing in major its emu, pcsx2 is up to 1024x1024 ok for me most of time. Then again, that one is using directX10 not some opengl crap.

Bah, r3661 is quite a bit slower than the newer builds. Test it with r3798. http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-2332.html Test with both Dolphin and DolphinIL and see how they compare. BTW, you should complete that first part and get to the observatory, because watching that storybook cutscene all the time wastes so much time.

Eh, its not ) co's there is "State saves" possibility ^_^, but am goona try that version NOW! EDIT: Well these non-official builds are piece of junk. I tried same version as u have + newest and it wont detect wiimote plugin - dropdown box is empty. No problem with my previous version. It also freezed once after just changing settings. I did on clean directory and also tried replace my old version without luck. It said before cant read info or such, now it say cant find plugin - of course plugin is there and its version from that build. So much for 3th-party builds, meh..... EDIT2: I have found it doesnt create some ini files like wiimote.ini etc., I put them from my old build and it still doesnt find wiimote plugin, says cant read info which is likely some ini file I gues. EDIT3: Ok I got it work by unpacking only exe and opengl plugin into my old version directory. I got.. 36fps on begining, but when I started moving it quickly slowed down to about 27fps. Also, on this version movement and scrooling feel more jerky. Then I quit and ran again and.... I got 55fps(!?!) and about 36-45fps when I start moving. Still movement and scroll feel jerky and slow, as if it doesnt reflect fps really. But I got this much fps. If second time run gave me such boost, I gues our testing isnt very accurate with this version, maybe u would get different fps every time too. But still there is a progress at least. Btw I do have 4gb ram. HOPEFULLY LAST edit!: so I tried few more runs + dolphinIL, I never got 55fps again but always +-36, so its about same as u Core2uu. There is definitely potential to run that game full speed, that one time I got 55fps it really feld good, no jerky or sutter. Only when I started moving it slowed back and didnt return. It would be better if this build was tested with someone on nvidia, also quad just to confirm one my theory.. Thanx Core2uu, didnt really expect 10fps boost.

Hey,
i have read a lot about the settings to play Super Mario Galaxy, but in the game menu and in the in the "videos" i have sometimes about 50fps and in game 20fps. "Enable Dual Core" ON I have the 3661 release. Please help me 07-29-2009, 03:12 AM
Get a newer revision. They are much faster than r3661, and as stated before in the thread, there really are no special settings for SMG. See if a newer revision helps.

*edit*: I´ve tested the 3404 release.... no comment to this. Nothing goes right. |
