Question
Well, I just bought a new laptop, with GTX 460M (good card for gaming).
I downloaded the emulator, started a game (sonic 4), and from time to time, the fps went down to 10~20 (and then game stuck), and after I pass the "Stuck part", it raise up to 60 fps. Is that normal or what? I havn't change any of my settings, excepte FHD or HD.

Thanks for help!

Your laptop is overheating. Pause often and let it cool down. Also, put it on 4 books so it's elevated off the surface (I hope you're not playing on a bed/couch) or get a laptop cooler.
Main Laptop:
Dell XPS 17
i7 2720QM @ 2.2GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M
Windows 7 64-bit

1. install/start realtemp
2. play dolphin
3. look while slowdown to realtemp
if the status bar at the bottom is changing from "OK" to sth your cpu is overheating
if OK isnt changing there are no problems with temp
EDIT by neobrain: that pic was kinda annoying..

No away! I checked the temp, and it was 60C, which is GREAT! (with GTA IV all MAX with FHD I get 80C)

I just downloaded the emulator, without change any settings, and played (I tryed it with 4 laptops, same problem...)

but thanks for helping anyway..

Perhaps this is just normal slowdowns that occur in games in certain parts?

Not every spot in a game will run at the same speed.

Post your systems specs and screenshots of all of your settings in dolphin.

80C is considered highly dangerous and will cause severe damage even in the short term to most CPUs.
