Wikipedia suggests a redmi note 4 has a snapdragon 625 SoC with Arm A53 cores. They are known to be too slow to emulate many games. There is no workaround for this.

Wii games are not always 'more demanding' on the cpu than GC games, it depends on what features they happen to use and how difficult they are to emulate on the SoC's CPU and GPU. "Unexpected" things can be slow because of this.

Can we just add to the dolphin requirements that "big" arm cores are required? Cause I swear half these threads are for people that won't even be able to play games on the best days.

I don't think there is a way to require a certain CPU in the manifest file or whatever the heck the APK uses.

We don't require a big ARM core for accurate emulation. And big ARM cores aren't enough for real time emulation either :/

I meant that as a "soft" requirement. Implementing it via actual permissions is hellish at best. I just meant maybe the official stance *should* be that ARM A53 and A55 are not officially supported in matters regarding playability. That would hopefully clamp down on the people coming in here complainig about performance on these sub par in-order little CPU's. Yes big cores aren't a fix but they are a far more realistic target because at the very least they show promise. Little cores will basically never be realistic for this kind of workload with their design

Why not add a message that pops up on EVERY device the first time they launch that says somthing along the lines of "Dolphin has detected that this device is too slow to run Wii and GameCube games, your experience may vary"?

How about we not distribute a stable version, and just have a "development" version? Tongue
