Formatting Memory Card

I recently started using the dolphin emulator to play animal crossing. I have it installed but once I press start a little dog playing a guitar pops up and says "Memory card A needs to be formatted." I don't understand how to do this because whenever I try and download a "MemorycardUSA.raw" file it comes up as an image, not a document.

Please help!

Are you trying to start a new game or load one from someone else?
