Sad
Hey!

So I'm trying to play duel mode on Force Unleashed on Dolphin, but either the controllers keep disconnecting or it gives one of the other two errors here.

The wiimote disconnect happens in singleplayer / training mode too, but very rarely. Not the pop-up error though. Some bug is causing them to disconnect because it's not inactivity, as the disconnected wiimote is sometimes the one I'm using (I leave the other one on the floor for now, don't have a friend to test it with atm).

Any ideas?

The controller input and game speed seems fine though when these errors don't stop gameplay Smile Oh and I have continuous scanning turned on, is that a problem? I experimented with that but didn't notice any difference.

Thanks,
Daniel

Alright so I just tried the latest dev build at time of this post (version 4.0-8965) and same problem. Forgot to mention that in the top left corner where the yellow messages appear, it says something like "Wiimote disconnected by emulated software" if that helps. I think it happens whenever they get force pushed or something, and the wiimote rumbles. I'm using default settings too, and other games run fine and don't have disconnects, for example I can play several Mario Kart matches with a friend without any problems. Oh, and sometimes after a reconnect (I just press 1 and 2) the character will continously move in a direction, usually left, and pressing all buttons won't fix it. I guess that's just due to the reconnect.

EDIT: Well I just configured it all for Keyboard & Mouse and it mostly seems fine, only disconnected once. The other pop up errors still come up too, and I don't know if the wiimotes will still disconnect when playing with a friend (as I mentioned before sometimes it's the wiimote I'm holding that gets disconnected, even when it's properly in range of my sensor bar)

If you had a proper cpu, i'd suggest disabling dual core, to get rid of those error messages. I guess, the game does not run full speed with dual core off?

As for the wiimotes, when you use real wiimotes, try disabling speaker data and continous scanning. Both should improve the connectivity to real wiimotes a little.

Sorry for the delay! Thanks for the informative reply, several things to try here Smile That's right, disabling dual core does slow down the game significantly, however unfortunately it still disconnected the wiimote after a bit of gameplay. I've attached my computer specs for reference but I think it's more the emulator problems than my computer, because other Dolphin games don't have disconnections like this.

Speaker data was already disabled but I disabled continuous scanning like you said, I don't know what that does still but I thought it always looked for the wiimotes so assumed it helped.

When it disconnects, usually A + B on the Wiimote fixes it during gameplay or Alt+F5 on the keyboard on the menus to reconnect Wiimote Player 1. Also as I mentioned before, even using keyboard + mouse as input has the disconnect message, so it's not my wiimotes at fault either. I suppose I could try it on my sister's gaming computer as well, but I have a feeling it won't work either. It'd be great if someone else could perform the same experiments though.

Thanks Smile

*BUMP* I think it's only on this game (disconnects), cause the nunchucks seem fine on Boxing on Wii Sports for example..

The game disconnects the Wiimotes on console too.

Oh really? Thanks that's very interesting! I wonder if anyone's actually completed the game on Wii haha, such a shame cause it's really fun moving the wiimote and nunchuck to play this Sad I suppose what needs to be done (if possible) is for the emulator to detect wiimote disconnects and automatically reconnect them, as I've found usually alt+f5 or alt+f6 (to reconnect Player 1 or 2) works. Do you know if there's already an option for that? Cause I've looked all over the config settings, must be missing something..

I just noticed you're a content producer Smile Any chance you could look into this please?

Hey I think I fixed it! Big Grin I updated my Bluetooth Toshiba stack from a really old version to quite a recent one (version 8, I think version 9 is absolute latest but I think I ran into some problems with version 9, I don't think there's much difference anyway). I've played through most of the first level now with no disconnects, and it usually disconnected at the start after the cutscene where the Wookie gets shot down. Fingers crossed! It's still scary it happens on the wii anyway though, but the fact that the error said disconnected by "emulated software" it suggests to me that Dolphin is doing the disconnects and not the game. It's a shame if the game was sold with these connection problems for the consoles..
