Hey guys,
Since the implementation/support of the Wii Remote Speaker in Dolphin, there are many games that will not detect/sync/connect with the Wii Remote if enabled.
The main work-around to that problem is to disable the Speaker, via the 'Properties' of the game. But, even with this, I was still having issues; where Dolphin detects the Wii Remote, but the game won't recognize it.
Now, I happened to have stumbled on this quirk inadvertently....I mainly use the DX11 plugin...so I changed it to the OpenGL plugin; it was still not working.
....then I changed it to the DX9 plugin...and it worked!
But wait a minute....why should that matter? I thought it was a fluke, so I tested it......and low and behold, I can get perfect Wii remote sync/functionality with the speaker disabled and using the DX9 plugin.
For reference sake; the three titles that I have, that suffer this issue, are Zelda - Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy and Okami.
If I enable the DX11 or the OpenGL plugin, the Wii Remote does not work; irrespective of whether the Speaker is enabled or not.
If I enable the DX9 plugin, the Wii Remote works if the speaker is disabled. Enabled, obviously, does not work.
Now, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition works with any of the video plugins, with the Speaker enabled or disabled (but I can only assume that Resident Evil 4 doesn't utilize the Wii Remote speaker).
Can someone else, who has Wii Remote connection issues, test this out?
This has been driving me nuts for a long time but I am glad that I can ACTUALLY play some games again.
...there's definitely an issue here which, if confirmed by other users, should be examined by the Dolphin coders.
Let me know what you guys find.
