Hi my friend and I wanted to play Conflict: desert storm together.

we both followed this guide Netplay Guide to make sure that we have the same settings and files and dolphin version (5.0). But i'm not sure what we are both doing wrong.

In Direct Connection, i forwarded the port on my router and i checked off forward port (UPnP) as the host. my friends enters my public ipv4 address right? with the same port. But either nothing happens or it says LOST CONNECTION on the chat.

Q. can i use ipv6 address? Does my friend also need to open the port on his router too?

For Traversal, either nothing happens or it says LOST CONNECTION on the chat also.

Q. when I host the host code I give to my friend is the Room ID correct?

anybody have ideas what is going on? is it just the game we're trying to play doesn't work?

Are you using the same version of Dolphin? Perhaps that's the problem?

yes we r both using 5.0. the stable release.  should we try to use the newer developmental releases?

I'm planning to try netplay again, but this time between 2 pcs at my house to see if this happens.

Also, is there just some games that don't like net play?

EDIT: I installed 4.0.2 (5 doesn't support 32 bit) on both computers at home (fresh install so everything is exactly the same), i copied over my SRAM.raw just in case, and i did not follow any guide apart from what it told me when i press "start Net Play". and it worked.

My friend and I are going to do a fresh install with nothing carrying over except for memory cards so we know for sure everything is exactly the same. except for graphics. I'll report back.
