That's a common issue on third party wiimotes I guess. Mine sometimes takes 3 reconnections before Dolphin recognize the buttons, but once it picks up I can play normally all the time I want. I'm using BlueSoleil btw.

However I've recently bought a very very very obscure Wiimote which doesn't even gets detected by Windows. If I find it on the net (i doubt it), I'll post it here in case Billard is still able to help.

Rig

*Corei5 3570K *Nvidia 9800GT 1GB DDR3
*Motherboard Asus P8H77M-PRO *Win7 x64
*RAM 8GB DDR3(1600)

Hello there! I am having problems with a 3rd party controller i have ordered, and as i have seen a couple of people have problems with it.
I am talking about this controller :
http://dx.com/p/remote-with-motionplus-silicone-sleeve-nunchuck-controller-set-for-wii-blue-2-x-aa-70788

I am using windows 7, have tried both MS stack and Toshiba, and the controller will not be recognized at all by my pc.
I haven't tried it with a real Wii console, but i suspect it will be working because i saw a few forums posts saying so.

Since this controller was in the Compatible Hardware List that exists in the forums, i think a lot of people have problems with it. If you could make it work, i could compensate in a paypal account.

Thank you for your time.

Well, I think you will not find this usefull but instead of buying a third party Wiimote just make a special build where you can change these values:
IPCHLEInterval
WiimoteInterval
AudioDelay
NonAudioDelay

And tadaaa 3rd party Wiimote fixed for everyone.

I'm pretty sure none of those are the source of the problems with 3rd party wiimotes.
The Microsoft bluetooth stack is simply not capable of sending the proper reports.
Some wiimotes will deal with it, some won't.

Also, I bought the 3rd-party wiimote I said I would buy earlier in this thread and it worked just fine with MS BT. :/

Your automatic reconnect branch partially fixes that issue.
Intel Core i7 2600K 2.8Ghz
Nvidia Geforce 570GTX
8GB RAM DDR5
Belkin F8T017 Bluetooth dongle with WIDCOMM stack
OS: Windows XP

Star this issue: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=4833

3rd party wiimotes and nunchunks, original motion plus.

Well for me it works, none of the Dolphin builds ever worked with my 3rd party Wiimote, on various systems, different OS, different Bluetooth dongles and BT stacks...

Just that in my experience messing with the timings solves the problem.

Hi,

I'm experiencing some problems with a 3rd party wiimote. It used to work just fine with my old BT dongle, but now I changed computer and mobo, I got one with a integrated BT (Gigabyte Z77 UP5 TH) which uses a suite (Atheros/Qualcomm) that relies mainly on MS stack.

Now, about the information requested:
  • Windows 7 x64 Ultimate - Atheros Suite/MS stack;
  • Dolphin 3.5;
  • the remote is detected by the BT stack as "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01". The pair-up function on Dolphin works perfectly fine, the remote is detected and it vibrates when I hit refresh: sadly, once in game it doesn't vibrate at all and the inputs aren't responding;
  • Wiinremote works perfectly well (everything works);
  • http://dx.com/p/remote-with-motionplus-silicone-sleeve-nunchuck-controller-set-for-wii-white-844056396
I've tried it (on the same computer) under two different OS (Windows 7 and MacOSX) and the problem is the same (in both cases it pairs, it is detected by dolphin but it doesn't work in-game). The only difference is that under MacOSX it doesn't vibrate at all. I could try with different BT stacks, but sadly both Bluesoleil and Toshiba don't recognise my BT "dongle" (which is actually a PCI-E card).

Thank you very much for your time, any help/solutions are really appreciated

Cheers
Alesss

ps: I've also tried the version 3.5.1060/1026, pressed alt-f5 while in game, but still nothing.

There is good(ish) news. Apparently some games work just fine (Fire Emblen Dawn, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles) and the wiimote responds (even though it doesn't vibrate at the beginning) whereas with the vast majority of them it doesnt' work at all. Now I'm even more puzzled...

ps2: I've now tried both versions 3.0, 3.5 with a genuine wiimote connected and the problem is always the same. I guess this BT stack won't work at all. I'd better get the old one from the drawer...

Hi, no wiimote response in game

It's like the emulator talk to the wiimote just fine but the wiimote don 't talk to the emulator...

Using:

- Win 7 x64 - bluetooth stack Microsoft - Targus USB Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter
- Dolphin 3.5-367 (also tried v3) 64bit and 32bit
- Dolphin see and pair the wiimote and rumble when refreshed but no response in game tried super smash bro's
- Original black wiimote Nintendo RVL-CNT-01

Hope the info helps you sort this problem

Anything else you need ?

Regards, Mitch
