So it's called Rpcs3, and seems the first real thing on this matter. Of course proper ps3 emulation will still take years but the work must start somewhere.

It's more like a disassembler now but it's working somewhat already....

Interesting at least: http://code.google.com/p/rpcs3/

Doesn't Dolphin use wxWidgets? I though that had to be installed for the mac build at least.

Yeah Dolphin uses wxWidgets as well, and it sucks like hell.

Well, you're a dev so change it for the better! The GUI on Dolphin is good though, especially when you put the mouse over an option and it tells you about the option and recommended setting.

I already coded a Qt GUI for Dolphin, but since there is no real demand for a replacement I didn't commit it Tongue

And fwiw, the GUI in Dolphin as it is right now may be good, but it's a freaking mess under the hood.. :/

So the next GUI will be written by you using Qt? You really should commit it. After a while a program with so many contributors just becomes a rat's nest, so rewrites are great (as long as they don't break stuff).

Who's going to be able to run it? The fact that you require a computer 4 times more powerful to run EPSXE properly and the fact that it takes a lot of power that a lot of computer's cant catch up to to run Dolphin, you're going to have a very great rig to use the ps3 emu.

Although in 10 years everybody should easily be able to run a PS3 emulator on their computers. I'm rooting for the RPCS3 team because I would like to see this through.

It's going to take over 10 years to get this done (if at all), so starting now is good. By the time it starts to be able to boot games somewhat, the hardware will be nearly ready to play games at decent speeds.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333
