Someone posted the item textures on Spriters Resource for Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and they look incredibly clean compared to the original item textures -- https://www.spriters-resource.com/wii/feradiantdawn/sheet/51813/

These jagged icons have been bugging me for a while now, so I arranged the Spriters Resource icons into custom textures for Dolphin.  Just check out the improvement in the swords and the button icons!

Installation instructions:
Copy the RFEE01 folder from the attached zip into C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Load\Textures\

I don't see any changes at all? Or is it just me?

Yes there's a difference, however it's not a whole lot.

They only look clean because the originals have artifacting, blur and/or AA going on. Automatically Dolphin will try to improve them but doesn't always do a great job in a case like this. The others have been cleaned up a little so that the pixels are not distorted anymore.
You might want to consider redrawing the textures instead, since this isn't going to make the cut for a "Custom Texture Project" believe me I know, I've been through this same situation and now I've just been redrawing my textures.

In this you can clearly see the difference. notice the edge of the bottle and the spout.

The normal texture for the items looks like it was squished horizontally...

...compared to the Spriters Resource icons, which is how the icons should look:

It's pretty cool how Dolphin is able to use this new texture even though it is wider than the original.

Imgur is definitely compressing the image even further, so the pictures in the 1st post don't look as crisp as they should. Even if it's a PNG, upload an image that's too big and that site will add its own compression.

At any rate, I was the one approving it. Unlike other textures projects that aim to enhance for HD play, this one is meant to fix the original 1:1 graphics. It's basically making the originals look more authentic than Nintendo did. I put this here because I felt there were some artistic changes the spriter had to do even though the purpose is to match the originals. I can actually see a lot of stylistic errors in the originals that are corrected in the new ones. I'd consider converting Nintendo's original (rather crappy) textures into clear sprites with some artistic additions transformative enough.

It can be hard to tell when you're working with such small graphics, but I'm sure many seasoned spriters could point out a number of changes. I've been out of the spriting game for ages but I can tell a lot of work went into making this, especially when the originals are pretty messed up in places.

If you prefer to keep the textures pixelated then you could use Bighead's custom texture tool and use the point option which basically resizes it to a larger dimension but also makes the pixels come out sharper like yours here.
Or you could redraw them like this vvv and your texture project would be a lot more popular and probably wouldn't get removed for looking to much like the original.

I know it's not perfect but it could look better with a little effort. This only took me a few minutes to do.

Ah okay, I didn't think something this close to the originals could fly.

That's just my judgement. I think it's fair given the changes from the original (especially correcting the awful aspect ratio). Others are free to disagree since I we haven't set the forum guidelines in stone. For that, I apologize. I've been busy the past few months, and I haven't put the finishing touches on the draft guidelines Forum Staff was working on. I think this texture project shows the right way to go about making packs that correct originals. I'll have to go over this with the rest of Forum Staff before any real rules are set down.
