Question
I have installed Dolphin today in order to play Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, and am experiencing some major issues. I'm not great with emulation but I've been reading through all kinds of threads before resorting to making a post but I can't find any other instances of this problem.

Dolphin Ver. 5.0-16380

When I launch the game, it freezes on the Health and Safety warning screen for a bit and registers no inputs despite confirming with other games that my controller is registering just fine. After a bit the game appears to sort of "catch up" with itself and zips through the rest of the pre-game screens such as the nintendo logo and Intelligent Systems logo. They flash by in a handful of frames. Sometimes the game freezes again on the Intelligent Systems logo screen and will progress no further. If I am lucky enough to get to the actual "Press Start" screen of the main game, it runs perfectly fine, graphically and audibly UNTIL I hit start, after which the game will progress for a few frames and then freeze both the video and the audio, holding the same note that was playing when the game froze. It will not progress past this state.

Things I have tried:

-Verifying the integrity of the ISO, all that was found was that the .nkit.iso that I have is a bad dump, but the severity is low and should otherwise run fine.

-A different .ISO file. Identical issues.

-Changing the Backend. I tried many different combinations to zero effect.

I'm at a bit of a loss here and any help would be very appreciated. Its possible that the problem is more rooted in a mistake I made in the installation of Dolphin? I installed the newest Redirectables for Visual Studio as directed by the download page, and everything appears to be working fine. I was able to run Sonic Heroes, albeit with horrendous audio quality.

Were both .ISO files in nkit format? Nkit and Dolphin don't work together nicely:

Nkit moves data around in the "disc images" to be "closer" to the center of the "virtual disc", which Dolphin doesn't like due to accurate emulation of disc reading speeds like on a real console.

If you can decompress the files using the Nkit app, and in Dolphin it says that ISO dump is good, try running that ISO and see what happens. Otherwise, you'll have to redump your game and get a known good image. If you want to save space, use the RVZ format for lossless compression and 100% compatibility with Dolphin.

If the other ISO you tested wasn't Nkit and you still had the issue, then here are a few things to check:
-Windows power options set to High performance
-Nvidia Control Panel has a profile for Dolphin that has the Power management set to "prefer maximum performance"
-Is Windows up to date?
-Does this happen with no Graphical enhancements in Dolphin?

I appreciate the response, and was hopeful that converting the file to a regular ISO would be the ticket but unfortunately that has the same exact issue. Dolphin says the dump is now fine, but the same problems persist. Nothing to note with your other suggestions either. I'm pretty damn stumped here. The dump I have appears to be the only dump that exists as well so I cannot easily try another. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried disabling Dual Core in the Properties setting on Dolphin? That's what I had to do.
