Fire emblem Path of Radiance

I have a little problem playing this game also. I just downloaded dolphin and path of radiance. I'm a noob at this and dont really know how to use it so can anybody solve this little problem? When I get to the main screen it says that I have to format a memory card or someting. I cant even start playing the game. Does anyone know how to format the memory card or something like that so i could start playing? Thanks in advance.
