Hello there!
I'm new here, and I was wondering if, finally, the developers got Dolphin running on the Nvidia Shield or any other Tegra 4 device... Did they?

Sorry for bad English :D

Sorry for bad English Big Grin

Tegra 4 used to be supported, but support was dropped because it had limitations preventing it from being able to render properly.

In your video, dolphin is running on a Nvidia TK1 CPU. Is a TK1 the same as a Tegra 4?

Do you mean that it would never be possible?

No. Absolutely no.

That's pretty much what he's saying. The Tegra 4 doesn't have good enough driver support. The TK1 however, does, thanks to full desktop OGL 4.4 support, and it has the power to back it up too. But if you are expecting your existing Shield to run Dolphin, you're in for some disappointment.

It isn't a matter of driver support with the Tegra 4, it's a problem of hardware support.
The hardware nearly supported everything we needed until we mandated integer support in the shaders.
This killed the Tegra 4 support.

Anyway. Is there any portable Android device that runs Dolphin almost perfectly?

No. Although the Tegra TK1 gets pretty close in some cases, there are no mobile devices that use it at this time.
