Few Questions.

I downloaded the newest Dolphin for windows 32bit, I just want to know if I need to download anything else?

Do I need any bios imported from my Gamecube?
Do I need any plugins?

Could someone give me a link if I need plugins or anything like that?

Plugins are provided with Dolphin, no need for dumping bios You're just dumping games using your console and it works

It depends on the game. Each game is different. And it also depends on your computer specs. The best thing to do is to just go in and mess with the settings and see what works best for you. The default settings that are set when running Dolphin generally will get the emulator up and running. It's then up to you to tweak them per game/pc requirements.

I can't get Metroid Prime to work properly...
My PC Specs are:

Q6600 Quad 2.4GHz CPU
9800GT Video Card
4GB DDR2 Ram.

You won't be able to play it @ full speed since the emulator will treat your processor as a dual core. I have a 2.2 and I can only get up to 14 FPS. Is there anything else that's going wrong?

Just very slow... I get like 7 FPS even with Dual Core enabled -_-; They need to make Quad Cores work with it so I can play full speed I can't find my GC so I have to resort to an emulator and now the emulator won't work

From multiple posts I've read, it's unlikely they will work on getting it to work with quad cores. Something about the GC/Wii architecture that quad cores would do very little to improve performance.

There was talk of putting the DSP plugin on a third core, which (provided they can get it working) would provide very quick and accurate audio emulation, a major plus. But since the Wii/GC only has a single core for game logic, and emulation of that single core is what's slowing things down for Dolphin at the moment, there's not really a way to speed it up. This is why I generally try to go with blazing fast dual cores as opposed to slower (but better multi-tasking) quad cores. Most programs right now don't take advantage of the quad core processing for it to make that much difference.

But anyway, I'm even able to get it going faster than 7FPS, and my specs aren't that much better than yours. (My dual core is clocked at 3.0GHz, it's an... AMD ...something, I'll look it up later.) I will note that the outdoor scene in MP1 is *very* intense for some reason, it speeds up considerably inside.

Obvious things to note: in your OpenGL plugin make sure you don't have Copy EFB to RAM checked unless the game requires it to work (Super Mario Sunshine does, for example) as it will definitely slow things down a lot. If you don't mind the loss of audio you can switch to Null processing in the DSP plugin, although you also lose throttling by doing this so it's possible for the game to run faster than it's supposed to.

Enable dual core obviously, even on single core systems it usually runs much faster because the OS can optimize multiple threads. Res and Multisampling shouldn't be an issue, you've got a great card for Dolphin. I'll note that it helps a lot if you can run the 64bit version of Dolphin, as there's considerable speed increase. It's worth making a partition to try out the Win7 RC in 64bit mode, as it's a major boost in speed.

I'll see what I can't do to make MP1 work, I formatted my good HDD and I have to re-rip my games library, fun fun. Those are the major speed bottlenecks mostly though. Eventually you figure out what does what and then it gets easier. And occasionally, one of the devs finds a silly easy optimization in an over-used routine and gives everyone 5-10FPS. Those are very happy days. ^_^

Damn, I'm writing this for the second or third time on this forum but I hope it's worth it. I've discoverded long time ago that for some reason AMD cpus gives a lot better results in Dolphin than Intel. Lowest config I've tried Metroid Prime was AMD Athlon 64 3200+@2.3GHz and it gives average about 20fps (15-40fps), on Phenom I got fullspeed. 7-14fps on dual core cpu is incredibly poor result and I found in here many other post like that, about very poor results in Dolphin and MP 1 & 2 on Intel cpus. I wish Dolphin would be even better optimized for AMD cpus since its cheaper and faster than Intels.

U can't make anything more than operating system and some videos on one core and all game on second. This thing about using third core is not really sure, it's, as far as I know, about some sound counting on third but it may be even slower than on 2 cores so it's not sure.
