From what I've heard from others, HLE audio's not likely to get any better than it already is. The patches (e.g. the Xenoblade one) are hacks technically, and I think some of the devs would rather not have those introduced into the code. It's not like I'm trying to speak for them though, it's their decision in the end.
Also, about the auto frame skipping, you do remember this thread, correct? With Dolphin, it's not possible to skip the frames in the same sense that emulators for the NES, SNES, and other consoles like that can.
I would, however, like to see support for custom IRs as well. Right now though, people have to code their own. Not hard, but kinda annoying.
