As an emulator example, I would point to DeSmuME which has these types of key and button configurations for its non-in-game emulator functions. (though ironically it's missing the option for "Close Emulator")

I don't think the devs are interested in adding such a feature to Dolphin but luckily there's a simple solution for this which requires another application.
You can use JoyToKey (or any software that can bind keyboard shortcuts to a controller) to bind that combo to a button.

Adding support for that really isn't hard, but we need to know if they're on-board with merging it if it's implemented properly.

Thank you, though...
Quote:JoyToKey is a shareware, but you can freely try it without any limitation in functionality (at least at this moment). After trial, if you find it useful, please consider purchasing a license key from JoyToKey application menu.

Afaict there's no enforced time limit or functionality hidden behind the license as is evident by the previous quote.
The author could've built a better sentence.

...seriously? Then what's the point of there being any purchase at all? Shouldn't it have a "donate" button or the like instead then?

I believe the author is natively Japanese. In particular, the English download archive is called JoyToKey_en.zip while the Japanese download archive is just called JoyToKey.zip.

Interesting fact: The English webpage lists the "from joytokey.net" download link first, but the Japanese webpage lists the equivalent "from joytokey.net" download link last.

It should. Or atleast it'd be more logical. It has a Japanese language selector up there as well so more reasons for being Japanese.

Good observation lol. The first Japanese link has a ton more hoops to jump through to download. Maybe he's affiliated with em or something.

Whilest I'd love to continue this, let's not head into deeper off-topicness. We can do/continue that in random.

There's lots of native english-speaking geeks/otakus/weeaboos/whatever-you-want-to-call-them that only know English and Japanese.

Then allow me to circle back to the original issue.

There are three other pieces of software that may be useful:
Joy2Key (requires compiling, works on linux)
Xpadder (only old versions are free, new versions have no trial)
Pinnacle Game Profiler (has a legit free trial version, is pay-for software, not portable)

So some games like Kamen Rider Super Climax Heroes can be played online.
Netplay works with wiimote.

I swear last time I tried, shit didn't work.
