Here's a simple one I previously made a thread about asking if it existed, and apparently the function does not:

Button/control remapping and customization for real Wiimotes.

This obviously wouldn't be an issue if every game had completely customizable controls, but alas this is not the case...

True but there`s a little problem: the drivers for the adapter are old and unlikely to be updated to modern OSes

That's not Dolphin's fault, or Dolphin's problem for that matter. There are plenty of adapters that continue to be updated with proper support for new OSes that work fine in Dolphin.

That doesn't automatically make such functionality a crime to implement in Dolphin. I mean there's built in support for anti-aliasing even though the user can force it via their GPU drivers.

The thing, all I want to be able to do is swap the A and B button for multiplayer in Metroid Prime Trilogy. (the in-game option for swapping A shoot and B jump is only available in single player)

Just so we're clear, I was talking about his idea, not yours.

You know that MPT multiplayer doesn't even work in Dolphin... right?

But I imagine that will change with time.

By contrast, outside of a miracle, there will most likely never be a way to swap the "shoot" and "jump" functions in multiplayer on a real Wii system. I even know of two people that tried like 4 years ago to create a gecko code that implemented such functionality, but failed (they were only able to make the game shoot and jump when pressing B).

Can we get rid of the WiiConnect24-related stuff in Dolphin since Nintendo discontinued that?

No? You can still play on custom servers.

Do the custom servers need the WiiConnect2-related stuff in Dolphin?

No idea, but in the future there could be Servers that did handle it, so, I don't think there's a reason to remove it.
