Feature Request Thread
|
I've seen a few threads on several sites complaining about not being able to play Dokapon Kingdom over netplay.
The problem is it needs a wii remote connected (which dolphin's netplay does not support) to be able to navigate through the main menu. You can just as easily navigate these menus with a gamecube controller, but it throws a hissy fit and won't let you do anything if a wii remote isn't connected. I know this is a pretty game-specific request, but is there any way you can add the option to spoof a connection with a wiimote and have it work on netplay? It doesn't seem particularly hard or time consuming to implement, though my programming skills are fairly limited so I don't know for sure. Dokapon runs pretty damn well on dolphin. It's a shame people can't play over the net over something stupid like requiring a wii remote connection to navigate menus. --------------------------------------------------------------- On second thought, something like that is probably already a debug feature. If it is, then that makes implementation even easier. 07-12-2013, 09:52 PM
This feature has been around since forever. In Wiimote config, just use an emulated wiimote as wiimote one.

Wiimote support, as far as I know, has not been implemented for netplay. Period.
That includes emulated wiimotes. 07-12-2013, 10:44 PM
In that case, you're screwed.

The problem with the feature request thread is that it's usually full of either people asking for things that already exist, or people asking for things that would be impossible to implement.

There doesn't seem to be any other place on the forum to post it, so I'm stuck with this thread.
Also I honestly don't think this sort of thing would be that hard to implement. It's really up to whether or not the devs want to dedicate their time to something that would only benefit a narrow group of people. 07-12-2013, 11:08 PM

But I've looked around the forum and haven't seen this type of request. It makes me think even if it were easy, it still wouldn't have already been done. I don't know how many times this sort of feature has been brought up outside the forum, though, so correct me if I'm wrong. |
