If you really want a 4:3 game to fill your Deck's screen entirely, the best way to handle that from my experience is to use a widescreen code and then enable the widescreen hack + stretch to window option. Using a widescreen code to get the game to 16:9 first gives you a much better experience than zooming in would since they expand the view to fill the space rather than zooming in and cutting off content, and since code like that are game specific they shouldn't add any glitches (depending on the code of course, they might). Then you can widescreen hack the rest of the way to 16:10, and you shouldn't get much in the way of glitches from that small of a bump.

Okay that's disappointing but thanks for clarifying.

Just to be clear I wasn't talking about zooming in a 4:3 game to fill out 16:10, but to crop the sides off a 16:9 game (or a 4:3 game with a widescreen code or patch) to fill the 16:10 display and get rid of the black bars on the top and bottom.

Again the main problem is that with a 16:10 display going from 4:3 to widescreen zooms out the game, giving black bars on the top and bottom, because the "crop" setting is only happy to crop information off the top and bottom of the game but not from the sides.

The crop setting is for getting games to exactly 4:3 or 16:9, since wii/gc games are a little off. So it can crop from the sides if the game is slightly wider (like Mario Galaxy)

Also, if you didn't know a good chunk of wii games also support 4:3. Maybe try that, although you may run into some culling issues.

That's not ideal, especially on a small screen.
I think it might be better in this case for the widescreen hack to remove content instead of just cropping the result of the widescreen hack that added content.

If someone wants to add a zoom control to Dolphin's INIs, I'm not going to say no. There are enough exceptions that having the ability to zoom in makes sense. But I'm not going to implement it myself.

This was actually requested 7 years ago: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-feature-request-thread?pid=386138#pid386138

Please add an option "Freeviewing" to Stereoscopic mode. It should work like Side-by-Side, except with no stretching (it should preserve aspect ratio).

This is arguably the most important option because it makes stereoscopic 3D gaming accessible for most people since it doesn't require any special glasses or device.
Then explain in the "invert eyes" option that it should be enabled so you can use Cross-eye method (not inverting eyes would be for parallel method, but this one is more difficult to do).
An additional helpful setting could control height of the image pair (center, top or bottom) so you can place it in whatever position is more comfortable to help reducing eye fatigue.

The image below from the previous request shows how it should look like for a game with 4:3 aspect ratio, when vertically centered.
To see it in 3D, just cross your eyes, then focus on a single point until your eyes start adjusting automatically.

I know dolphin has post processing shader support being worked on in a draft PR, I was wondering if part of that could be Snowflake/librashader. it's a library that allows adding support for retroarch shaders, in which there are plenty while it is MPL/GPL licenced, the C-API itself is MIT licenced.

Please consider an option to disable dolphin bluetooth capabilties, so we can play gun games with external wiimote software.

I personally have no plans to use that library because it goes against something specific I am designing and having both solutions would be confusing to users.

In the future we could possibly support a retroarch shader parser if there was enough interest.
