I forgot to include this issue on my previous idea, but for Resource Pack installation, to make it support deep folder structures, like this commit on PPSSPP did.

This is specially useful for texture packs hosted on Github, where when the zip is downloaded, it always has a middleman folder(Ex: texture-pack-name-master), and then the contents of the repository, which would have the manifest.json, etc.

Hi,

First off, I'd just like to congratulate and thank the entire dolphin team for their work in creating one of the, if not, the best emulator developed to date.

I would like to add a suggestion where we could add individual Graphic Profiles for each game by right clicking on the game. The reason for this is some games are obviously easier to run than others. Take Pikmin 2 (GC) for example; I can play it at 4k 4xMSAA at 100% full speed no problem. However when I try to play Super Mario Galaxy with the same settings (4K 4xMSAA), some parts slow down to 80% speed. The obvious fix here is to downscale it to 1080p 4xMSAA and it works fine, but this gets annoying as I switch between playing games, so I think having a specific Graphic Profile for each game would make sense. And if no Graphic Profile for a game is set it will default to the global settings.

My basic specs:

i5 4440 @3.1-3.3ghz
16GB DDR3 1333mhz Corsair RAM
Gigabyte RX 570 4GB
(Using Dolphin 5.0-11409)

Cheers.

You can already do this through the Game Properties page and INI editing.

I'm only seeing a few settings here though - nothing suggesting that I can easily set a specific resolution to a specific game, except the Video_Enhancements where you'd add code?. But this is a lot more tedious than having a UI like the global graphics has, right?

There's a list of options and how to handle them. If you want them added to the GUI, that's a much harder task.

I would love to see the "Played Time" feature, (maybe Last Played too) just like rpcs3/cemu did recently.

I've been using Dolphin for testing game mods for quite a bit, thanks to the extracted game feature. What i noticed, though, is that while the game is running, if you edit a file and its size changes, Dolphin will crash. After some research, i found that JosJuice rewrote the code for this a few years ago. Before this rewrite, the game was completely fine with changing the file size (as long as it wasn't bigger than the one the game was started with), but now it's not. In my opinion, this change alone basically makes all the others pointless, since it slows down testing a lot. It would be nice to have this feature back, i'm kinda tired of using the stable build Tongue

Hm, I'm surprised that that worked at all before, since the FST is cached... I'm also not sure why Dolphin is crashing (rather than the emulated game freezing or something similar). Do you have anything that points towards where the crash happens, like an error message that shows up right before, or a stack trace?

Please also try the new Dolphin version 5.0-11647. I have made a change in it that possibly could help with this problem.

I just tested this with the 1.0 Japanese version of New Super Mario Bros. Wii with 5.0-11651 (Windows 10 x64). I played through 1-1, then removed some enemies and blocks from the level (thus lowering the filesize). After entering the level again... the game gave me a generic "an error has occurred, please turn off the wii, eject the disc, and consult the manual" message.

Weirdly enough, though, upon subsequent tries, it did sometimes work as intended (loaded the modified level). About half the time it crashed. And in one case, it even seems to have loaded the unmodified level? I did check to confirm that the filesize of the level changed before opening the level, then, so I definitely saved all changes.

Before the filesystem updates made to Dolphin it consistently worked perfectly fine. After the update, modifying files while the game was running caused the game to crash with no error message at all (0fps, black screen), although I'm not certain. It was consistent, and never worked.

So, this appears to be an improvement, at least, but it's still not quite right. Expected behaviour would be allowing filesizes to decrease and all modifications appearing as intended. Ideal behaviour would be allowing filesizes to decrease AND increase, but I'm sure making that happen would be difficult. Tongue
