I'm not sure If I'm allowed to repost the request I made many months ago. I know it hasn't been implemented and it didn't spark much discussion.
The way HD texture packs work right now is really cumbersome. Texture packs get abandoned and started all the time, but the biggest problem is not knowing when a texture pack has been updated. If each texture pack contained a pointer to the original thread for that texture pack then maybe it would be possible to check for updates. Of course this would require the threads in the texture pack sub-fourm to change slightly. The threads would probably have to include some field at the top or bottom to show what version the texture pack is currently on, and all threads would have to conform to the same way of denoting the version, so it's easy for dolphin to read them all.

Not sure how feasible it is, and it probably isn't at the top of the todo list, but it is still something I would very much enjoy seeing implemented.

At least in terms of the features like custom textures. Plus how Tino enhanced the custom textures feature and other graphics possibilities with his modification!

So I just sometimes think how awesome it would be if we could mod some of the 360 games with less limited graphics, sound etc.
One can only dream haha Smile

Some of dolphin devs have worked with other emulation projects like ppsspp and citra, both very successful emulators as well. Even if that happens dolphin will stay as it is a gamecube and wii emulator probably since stuff that aren't planned from the beginning are difficult to change, better start from scratch sometimes.

an option to choose between quality and performance in just one click...

for example if i choose quality then native resolution will be automatically set to best resolution the pc can handle and the slider of emulation is set to accuracy rather than performance, audio will be set to best quality rather than performance. etc.

and if performance was chosen then native resolution will automatically be set to native and other options that is manually tweak to choose performance rather than quality..

i hope you get the idea

Sadly, this might not be such a great idea. Some games tend to have issues with specific settings. For example when the Texture Cache is set to safe it demands more performance but causes the least amount of issues regarding the texture cache. Setting it to fast will improve your performance but can cause issues in specific games. The logic also applies to Store EFB Copies to Texture only. Disabling the option demands more of your performance but will have fewer issues. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask for example require EFB Copies to Texture Only to be disabled in order for the start menu to display the background.

I am not sure there is any need for having an option to select the best "audio". It all depends on the game. HLE audio has been making great progress and can be perfectly used in most cases. There might be a few cases where LLE audio is a must. I still remember the days where LLE audio was required to have proper sound and music in titles such as Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Mario Kart: Double Dash (the music would stop looping). The Wind Waker demanded LLE since HLE audio could crash the game when opening a chest (but this has been since long ago fixed). The choice of the audio backend matters on the compactability of your system. Some games might work better with certain audio backends.

There is already an option to set the internal resolution to get as close to your computer's resolution.

I don't think there is any need for toggling between performance and quality on the go. Either your PC can handle it or can not. You just have to setup your preferences once, and if a specific game demands specific settings for compactiblity you can edit it in the game's .ini settings file instead.

I do think you misunderstand quality and accuracy. Quality refers to the visuals itself. Which could be rendered in a higher resolution for example or with anti-aliasing. Accuracy refers to settings that increase the compactiblity of a game. Certain games don't work to well with specific settings and that might causes issues or bugs. You don't want to disable Store EFB Copies to Texture Only unless a game requires it. As said, if a game requires a specific option for accuracy reasons apply it to the game's .ini settings file so you don't have to change the setting manually each time when switching between your games.

Or... If a certain game is too demanding for your system, apply lower quality settings in that game's .ini settings file too. Lower the internal resolution for example. It also saves your the hassle of manually lower your settings each time you start a game which is too demanding. Chances are it won't matter too much. As said, your PC either handles it or not. Games such as Super Smash Bros. Melee and New Super Mario Bros. Wii are quite lightweight, while games such as Twilight Princess and Xenoblade Chronicles are quite demanding. It all matters to the game itself how demanding it is.

i get your point but my point is to help newbie users tweak the emulator in a single click..

much like in driving you just put it in drive rather than changing gears manually Smile

An automatic gearbox only really has to be aware of one thing and changes one thing in response to that. On the other hand, Dolphin has loads of settings that affect performance and some of these will break certain games and others have different effects on different games and different hardware. It's a much more complicated task.

You can already do that, as the Joy-cons are Bluetooth you can just pair them to your computer and use them. Also, read here: https://www.pcgamesn.com/nintendo/nintendo-switch-joy-con-pc-guide
