The official line that gets spouted when that's mentioned is that it'll only happen after DolphinQt is ready. Currently Dolphin uses WXWidgets, which is much harder to use than Qt, but we've already got it working in most cases. No one's really been working on DolphinQt for a while now, though...

The most frequently recommended thing is to add Dolphin to Steam with different launch options for each game you own, and then to use Big Picture mode.

There was some effort to create an OpenGL UI very much like PPSSPP, but it hasn't been worked on in awhile afaik

If I can, I can get a PR up this weekend. If not, after 5.0

A tool or resource to let you know whose up for some Netplay would be appreciated!

I sometimes come home wanting to Mario Party online but can't find anyone who wants to while asking across random forums. Likewise for a sea of other titles. Perhaps a check box by each title in your games library that when checked lets others know you're available to play that game online. Then have a desktop notification alert the player when someone else would also like to play said game. It doesn't even have to be w/i Dolphin; someone could make a site for this very thing. I know that, at least for Chrome, desktop notifications can be made out of extensions, so maybe this could be looked into. Either way I'm sure people would like it. =]

I am new to dolphin and I am not sure if this is a feature but when I tried to map my controls I wasn't able to map 2 keys to 1 controller button (e.g. Shift+E)
If this isn't a feature I think it would be a simple yet very useful feature for people that like using keyboard and mouse rather than a controller.

Thank you for your time!!!

You can already do that. You need to right click on the button for more advanced configuration.

I'm waiting on all of this until after 5.0 since we're so close to release.

Hello, would you consider providing packages for major linux distros? Every 4.0.xx release should suffice, if doing every 4.0.xxxx is too burdensome.

There are a couple ways to go about this.

Effing Package Management (fpm)
Quote:Effing package management! Build packages for multiple platforms (deb, rpm, etc) with great ease and sanity.
  • Website: https://github.com/jordansissel/fpm
  • Usage: https://github.com/jordansissel/fpm/wiki

Open Build Service (OBS)
Quote:Your users can always download the latest version of your software as binary packages for their operating system. They use the package management tools they are familiar with and will get your software just like they get software from their OS supplier. They don't have to know about tarballs, make install, package formats or other stuff from the 90's. Once they are connected to your repository, you can serve them with maintenance or security updates and even add-ons for your software.
  • About:  http://openbuildservice.org/about/
  • Documentation and videos:  http://openbuildservice.org/help/
  • Web interface: http://build.opensuse.org/
  • Users download the package and repo for their distro here: http://software.opensuse.org/search (you have to click the wrench icon on the search bar to see all supported distros)

Let me know by PM if I can help.

Binary distribution on linux is very hard. I'd try to avoid is as much as possible. But as we're open source, every distribution can just pick our release within their repositories. To be honest, that is one of the single reason why we are going to provide an up-to-date stable version.

The good news however, is that compiling dolphin on their own is very easy on linux. git clone; cmake; make; make install.
