Also the IR-Data from the Wii Remote is sent as up to four IR-points detected by the camera. That means up to four X-Y coordinate pairs. Those coordinates have min-max values, that are exactly the size of the camera field of view. So if the sensor bar or one of its points is moved outside of the camera view, you have no range of values left to go beyond the camera view.
