I honestly can't imagine someone having those consoles as their favorite. They barely had a third of the games the NES had and they were too simple.

I do agree that the SEGA consoles should've been included. The PS3 and 360 should be separated. They're not the same and they have different (exclusive) games.

As for my choice... considering the (large) amount of great games the PS1 has, which overshadow the (small) amount of great games the N64 has, I'd have to go with the PS1.
In my opinion; all the Final Fantasys (1-9), Symphony of the Night, Chrono Cross, Legend of Dragoon, Saga Frontier 2, Metal Gear Solid, Gauntlet Legends, and a ton of other games definitely delivered more than the N64 had to offer.

Just because some of them are crappy doesn't mean they all are. TurboGraphx16 was actually a very strong contender with the NES, especially in Europe. It has a large collection of quality titles and even has a bunch of them on the Wii Virtual Console. NeoGeo games hold a ton of famous fighters that thrived in arcades for eons (many arcade units literally ran NeoGeo hardware). And some of the consoles are fairly new, like the Evo, Pippin, and Zeebo. I just wanted to point out the complexity of a console list Tongue.

@MaJoR There are only 10 max choices. I wanted to put Sega but I left it out. I did post if your favorite is Sega, NeoGeo, or any other you could say that at the bottom, which, I guess, you kind of did. Tongue

I agree with MaJoR: PC Engine (TurboGrafx16) was a good system.

I personaly didn't vote because choosing only one system was too difficult. My favorite systems have probably been NES, SNES, PS1, PS2. And Arcade machines (so Neo Geo has its place here) Big Grin

But nobody liked any of those. Except maybe the C64.

MaJoR Wrote:Ok ok, *heavy breathing*. That's just consoles, that work in the traditional form of removeable media. Doesn't include the built in game systems (minus the vectrex cause it's just that awesome), computer hybrids, or handhelds.

True. Although I already discussed the absence of handhelds.

MaJoR Wrote:But alright, seriously, why did you leave out poor Sega? SG-1000/3000, Sega Mark III/Sega Master System, Sega Genesis/Sega CD/32X, Sega Saturn, and the wonderful little gem of the Sega Dreamcast? And why are the 360 and PS3 combined? Haven't you heard of console wars!

Yeah I agree with all of this. This poll has a serious nintendo bias.

I've added more poll options, everyone vote again. There's still not every platform in the world, but it's a bit better.

Should I make a favorite handhelds poll?

One could assume, but I didn't know I could post all of them because I read something like limit of 10 voting options. I just put every Nintendo Home Console because they seem to be tge most popular. I mixed PS3 and Xbox 360 because I thought that 10 was the limit and that i had to include them both. Starscream fixed it though. Smile

It's not really a Nintendo bias, it's just that Nintendo has more consoles than anyone else. Naturally there are going to be a lot of Nintendo consoles listed since they have 6 while the rest only have 3 or less.

Depends on your definition. If you include things that have separate hardware requirements and games only for them, the Sega CD and 32X also count. Add in the SG-1000, and Sega has 7 consoles. It gets even more complicated when you learn that the Xbox is a direct successor to the Dreamcast: Sega worked with Microsoft to develop it, and the Xbox was highly influenced by this partnership. For example, the "opposite of Nintendo" button layout, A+B/X+Y instead of Nintendo's B+A/Y+X, was directly inherited from the Dreamcast, which was in turn inherited all the way back to the Sega Master System. Tie in that relationship, and Sega-MS consoles make up 10 systems (including Durango).
