Fatal Frame 4- ps3 controller

Hi all

I just started playing Fatal Frame 4 with dolphin emulator version 3.5-367 on 64 bit.
I have an alienware m14x with the basic specs and windows 7.

I am running the ds3 tool on the side and using my ps3 controller to play the game. I configured the wiimote and nunchuck so that the game runs smoothly.

I can walk, run, examine items, do a 180 degree turn, activate camera, use the directional pad to change lens on the camera and film. The only thing that I haven't been able to figure out is how to move the camera while in finder mode. I can focus on a ghost that I'm battling but other than that I can't manually move the camera to pan up and down. i also can't move the flashlight around to different areas of focus and I'm aware that both these controls are the same on the wii.
This wasn't so much of a problem, until I reached misaki's chapter, where she must go to the room under the stairs following the two child ghosts. I can see a blue flash in the direction of the falcon and I'm sure that I need to take a picture of something lower, but I can't get the camera to focus on that. So I am kind of stuck there.

Here are my controls so far as I have set them, starting with the wiimote controls on the left followed by the ps3 controller buttons I have set them to, followed by the actions of these buttons in the game.

wiimote:

A = X = examine/ take picture while in viewfinder mode
B = O = raise/lower camera
- = Start= menu
+ = Select= map

D-pad= D-pad on ps3= changing lens and film in finder mode

Nunchuck:

C= R2= I don't know what this does, haven't used it yet.
Z= R1= Run/ focus on engaged ghost in finder mode

Shake X- L1
Shake Y- L2- Turn 180 degrees/ Shake off ghost

For moving the camera and flashlight up and down, I've tried everything but can't seem to set the controllers. I know with the wiimote, it is moving the remote up and down that does it, but event if I assign my controller buttons in that field, it doesn't seem to work.

Please help. Thanks.

1. 3.5-367 is NOT the latest. Use the official site: http://dolphin-emu.org/

2. Don't use motion in joy. It sucks, it's unstable, it has ads, just bleh. The SCP drivers are FAR better. Open source, made by a nice guy, no ads, much more stable, set and forget, and NO ADS. - http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller

3. It looks like your wiimote shake is set wrong. Can you show screenshots of your emulated wiimote configuration?

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I attached the screenshots for the configured controls that I am currently using. The shake is set wrong on purpose. I set the shake to the actual remote shake, but the character would take a 180 degree turn on every move, as it was too sensitive, hence I changed it to the L1,L2 controls.

I'll update the latest version for dolphin in the meantime, and also get this driver that you speak of.

Thanks.

Problem seems to be solved after updating to the new dolphin version. I didn't change anything else.

Thanks! Big Grin

Nope. It seems to be the same with me.

You may encounter some problems while playing the piano later on. In that case, instead of setting the right analog under tilt, set it under IR field, just to play the piano and then change back.
