Fake WiiMote Compatiblity

I'm considering buying a fake WiiMote to use with Dolphin, I've heard people had issues but there were some work arounds, however this was really old info. As I feel many people probably are in the same boat as me (considering buying an Ebay WiiMote for <$20) it's worth an updated answer in my opinion.



So, has anyone brought one of these wiimotes(with/without motion plus built in) and had it work with dolphin?

Does motion plus work(built in/fake attachment)?

Does the nunchuck work?

Does it pick it up as a real one, or are massive work arounds required, resulting in a thirdparty app using the wiimote as an emulated mouse and using that as input for dolphin?

_Even if it worked for you , you might encounter another issue like "random disconnect" . You can try Toshiba BlueTooth stack

Ended up buying it, so I'll answer my own question in about a week, and hopefully some other people's questions.

There's heaps and heaps off different sellers, but i'm 90% sure, theres only really two fake models being sold. The old one i brought and the wii motion plus one.

Edit: To be clear, by fake I mean cheapest of the cheap no branded third party, with the same moulded case as the real ones. I'm not referring to the imposters, that have a fake nintendo brand on them, and try really hard to seem legit. Although those are probably the same ones, just branded.

It doesn't matter
As long as it's not original product , you'll have problem with it
I had witness a few people got their 3rd party wiimote working , they were very very lucky though
