Okay, guys, here's something that's stumping me.
I'm using the stable releases that came out before Dolphin 5.0 (I don't use Dolphin 5.0 or higher due to an old feature being removed... only lower emulators have it.)
On this computer, before I did a system recovery, I could play Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning AND load custom Hi-Res Textures into the Emulator. However, since I restored it, I've been having two different errors pop up whenever I try to load custom textures into dolphin. Here's what's interesting: The bug only exists in Direct3D11 and Direct3D9. When attempting to load textures via OpenGL, the error does not happen, but instead, I get black textures wherever I loaded a custom texture (Everything else remains untouched).
The first error, "Failed to create blend State at Src\Render.cpp 1122" or "1123", occurs when "Disable Destination Alpha" is turned off.
The second error, "Failed to create depth state at Src\Render.cpp 1130" occurs when "Disable Destination Alpha" is turned on.
Whatever the case, and whatever options are ticked, the game would cause the screen to freeze for a second, turn black for a few seconds, then refresh itself, and things such as windows and icons would flicker quickly a couple of times before one of the two errors would pop up.
I am using a custom built PC that I never wanted (I had a guy custom build it for me. From the start, it's been very buggy. He attempted to fix it quite a few times before getting so annoyed, he dropped the contract, so I could not go to him to get it fixed anymore. He told me he was certified, showed me even a certificate, but I still am questioning his methods. Why would a certified pc builder make such a flawed computer? I don't know. What I know is, for a private single pc builder {And game designer}, he certainly did not know what a "beast machine" was... he built a computer akin to what I already had, and I paid a couple thousand for it. He told me he could find great deals on NewEgg, and get them for even cheaper, but whoa, I did not know it would be this cheap... I guess you get what you paid for... and less.)
PC stats:
Windows 10 Pro x64
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970
Nvidia Version 368.81
16GB RAM DDR3
Addons
Microsoft Visual Redistributable 2005 - 2015 (All versions)
Microsoft.Net + Framework (latest version)
Direct X 12 and DirectX 9.0
Program Stats:
Dolphin 4.0
Dolphin 4.0.1
Dolphin 4.0.2
I did a system check, a ram check, a defrag, malware/adware/spyware scan, etc. All came up with no errors.
Also, when using OpenGL, 16x CSAA, 16xQ CSAA, and 4x SSAA all yield a wierd colorization scheme when I set those options on. They look like lines all over the models and texutres, almost like a wireframe, but they are not wireframe, because turning on and off wireframe doesn't do anything but show and hide the wireframe. This could also be related to the blending/depth issue.
No, I will not go to Dolphin 5.0. Unless you add support for the old feature I use (I think it's either "free look" or "load custom textures..."), then no, I won't use it. I've tried to compromise, but it's not the same. And I cannot do it myself (I don't know how to program, I've even tried doing it myself with Microsoft Visual Studio. That didn't go well. And it's not the first time...) Unless it's something simple like taking the old source code and inserting it into the new code, then building it as it is. But still, I had to do a recovery because Microsoft Visual Studio almost ruined my computer... many programs would not work after installing it (I downloaded it from Microsoft's website... I don't believe they would intentionally destroy my computer's functionality.)
So, after all that, does anyone have any insight or answers? I know it works, because I've used it before on this pc before I restored it, and it works on my other one (but runs really slow), but I don't know exactly what I did to make it work, or if it simply just "worked"
