So now that the CPU is dealed with, what about my crossfired HD 6870 Black Edition's? Those are very well suited for Dolphin, right?

But, not when I choose DX9 or DX11 and OpenGL seems to be 10 frames slower. Is dolphin not crossfire ready? And with using one, I can only expect performace to improve, right? I'm sorry, I'm really new to dolphin, and I just want to get it running smoothly is all. 08-10-2012, 03:29 AM
Crossfire or SLI is not supported by Dolphin. (yet)
Dolphin will only use one, regardless if you Crossfire enabled. What game do you want to play smoothly? 08-10-2012, 05:20 AM

I will be overclocking the i5 I buy, any set clock it should be to achieve this? 08-10-2012, 05:52 AM
With a 6870, you're able to go beyond 1080P and set it to x4 (2560x2112).
Now if the jaggies bother you too much, you can either use the DirectX11 or OpenGL backend and maximize your AA there. DirectX9's x9 SSAA will bring your GPU to its knees. Keep in mind that in either backend, you will trade performance for a slightly better image. You'll find out if its worth it or not. 08-10-2012, 05:57 AM

I really appreciate it, and am just on my way to NCIX to purchase my new mbo and cpu. Again, thanks a lot for the information and the quick replies :^) 08-12-2012, 02:43 AM
