Alrights guys, I'm a long time dolphin user and love the program, but this just has me stumped and I was really just curious as to whether anyone else has heard of this issue since i couldn't find anything on the forums about it. Computer specs are as follows...

Intel Core-i5, Nvidia GTX 555 GPU, ASUS bluetooth dongle, Nintendo wii remotes, nintendo wii sensor bar, 6GB ram

So I've had random bouts of fury with dolphin when my wiimotes go from working completely fine one day, to this the next...

-Wii Remotes connect (via 1+2 method or using windows bluetooth sync)
-While playing games, the motion sensor stuff (i.e. cursor) is incredibly jerky and almost seems laggy (though its not just the typical lag).
-Buttons sometimes work, sometimes don't
-Buttons stick (i.e. i press down to run down, and it does so for about 5 seconds on dolphin)
-When moving cursor over selection buttons, often times the rumble effect freezes (what should be a mild half second rumble is a 3 second earthquake) and the cursor freezes as well.
-Wii games that use the wiimote are completely unplayable

This has happened a few times, and I've driven myself nuts trying to figure out why it happens. Long story short, after troubleshooting nearly everything imaginable, it turns out the real problem is my EXTERNAL HDD?! I have a Western Digital My Passport 1TB Ext. HDD (USB 3.0) formatted to exFAT for use between my PC and my Mac... these issues ONLY occur when my Ext. HDD is plugged into my computer (though i do not have anything dolphin related on my external hdd).
At least since i found the issue i can play dolphin with no issues, but I couldn't find anything in the forums related to this. has anyone had this sort of trouble, or even heard of such a thing happening? any insight would be great.

sounds really strange. perhaps this is a kind of bug

you can report it at the googlecode page of Dolphin if you want -> http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/list

"Interference" is unlikely, the wavelengths aren't similar in any way. There could another kind of correlation, tough: HDDs need very much power, and USB often struggles with that. So in case your HDD has no external power source but gets its power through USB, maybe the voltage drops a bit when it's on, and the bluetooth dongle has less power available for sending.
Just a wild, guess, tough.
