Hello, I just recently started using dolphin after my launch wii died but I'm getting poor performance in almost all games I have, here are the overall stats:

Metroid Prime: ~15fps
Pikmin~20fps
Wind Waker~20-30fps
DKC returns~25-30fps
Galaxy~25-30fps

My settings are based on the "performance" section on Dolphin's site, resolution 640x480, no AA, no AF, Direct3d9 plugin, I don't think I can improve it anymore than this. I'm using the latest SVN build from Emucr also.
My specs are:

Core2duo E7500 @ 2,93Ghz
Radeon HD5770 1Gb
2Gb Ram
Windows 7 32 bit

I just bought this video card and was getting similar performance before it (but all other PC games have run great on it now, so I don't think it has a problem). My question is, after upgrading from an onboard video card G31 to a 5770 should I gain no speed at all? IOs this performance campatible with my rig?
Thanks in advance and sorry fabout the english, I'm from Brazil. Big Grin

This may sound stupid but are you sure you're using the video card? As in your monitor is hooked up to the video card not the mobo port.

Yes, I can run other games such as Mass Effect, Bad Company 2, even Crysis at good speeds, that's why I was expecting better results with Dolphin.

Stop expecting and start thinking! Don't compare pc gaming to emulation because they are totally different. It's like you're comparing apple to orange...

It's comparing something that is natively supposed to run on a PC to something (like dolphin) that is being translated to run on a PC and is emulated. There is a big difference. Not many people understand the difference.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333

You're both missing the point. Those speeds are still quite low for his hardware. And he says he's using the performance settings from the site so I don't know what's wrong.

@Alves
Did you check to make sure it's not overheating?

You're either getting a bad reading, you're not using efb scaling, or you're playing a 2D game. GPU load is rarely accurate since the GPU performs so many different functions and each one has it's own fixed function logic.

It has to be the "lock threads to cores" option.

Was just answering to NaturalViolence and giving an example that the card is actually approprietly connected to the PC/Monitor, not trying to compare them.

It's actually turned off right now, turning it on slow things down.

Could it br the 32bit version of Windows?

Card temp floats around 50~60ºC

Make sure no other app is hogging the CPU resource when running. Also, check the CPU temperature as well. 64-bit is the fastest version for dolphin.
