Cool, thanks for clearing that all up Helios, very much appreciated!

My laptop with Intel i7 4800MQ and the onboard HD4600 does Hybrid with no issues at all at 3xIR...
Check my profile for up to date specs.

Thanks - so in terms of the CPU, to select an equivalent modern i5, what would that be something like a i5-7400? And by the looks of it the HD4600 is quite a bit less powerful than a GTX1050 isn't it? Excuse my ignorance, I'm new to the PC stuff.

Yes the i5-7400 will be better actually, but I'd recommend the i5-7600 instead, gives you some extra kick.
And the 1050/1050 Ti smokes the HD 4600. 08-19-2017, 03:56 AM

Wow can't believe he can get smooth gameplay at 3xIR at all then - sounds like I'll only need a minimal PC for Hybrid @ 1080p then.
Edit - thanks, I was thingking of the 7600 as well 08-19-2017, 06:26 AM
note, the HD4600 probably won't hit full speed in all games.
However, if you find it doesn't, you can always just buy a 1050, so it's not really a big deal 08-19-2017, 06:57 AM
The i5-7600 comes with the HD 630 actually, has there been a lot of testing with that and Dolphin? From other benchmarks, its almost twice as fast as the mobile HD 4600
The HD 4600 was the reference because that's what mstreurman has in his. 08-19-2017, 07:08 AM
You mean it the i5 has the graphics card on board? So could the i5 run Dolphin at 3xIR + SSAA without an external graphics card?

Yes, all Core-i series CPUs from Intel has a built-in GPU. The i5-7400/7600 has the HD 630. I can't say how good or not it is or isn't, but my i7-4700MQ with the mobile HD 4600 can reach between 2x-3x IR in most games with no other enhancements, so I'd assume the HD 630 can at least do that much. With SSAA? I'm not sure about that part.
