Hello! Whenever I try to open Dolphin on my computer, I always get this error message popping up:

Will my PC even be able to run Dolphin at all...? Here are my specs:

Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
AMD Athlon™ XP 2600+
2.08 GHz, 448 MB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Now that I'm getting this download (Visual c++ 2008 SP1), should I get the Windows Builds 64bit version of Dolphin, or just stick to the Windows Builds 32bit version of Dolphin...?

If you have a 64 bit system and running a 64 bit OS, then you should run the 64 bit version of Dolphin

Alright, thank you. I got both of those downloads, but neither helped. It's just doing the same thing. I'm going to try the 64bit version real quick.
I tried the 64bit version, and it won't pull up. Apparently, I have a 32bit system.

Try reading around a little, it's been stated several times that anyone with an Athlon XP will not be able to use Dolphin at all.

For example this post: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-4-post-7413.html#pid7413

Your processor is pushing over five year old technology, and does not support the features needed to run Dolphin, namely SSE2 which is a hardware instruction set. Even if it were possible to get games running on that almost ancient processor, they would run like a slide show at a snails pace.

No, there is nothing you can do except buying a new processor or building/buying a completely new system. A Core2Duo/Quad/Phenom is required for decent performance anyway so it might as well be that. An AMD Athlon 64/x2 will run most game at half or a fraction of full speed and is not recommended for the best possible performance in Dolphin.

Anyways in the end, it would be much cheaper to just play on a Wii or Gamecube than bothering with throwing wads of money towards a new system or upgrade.

Also another thing I didn't see is the ops video card is below the minimum requirements. His video card doesn't support any kind of Pixel/Vetex shading (Dolphin requires 2.0) which means the op could kiss using the DX9 plugin goodbye, his video card also doesn't support the minimum OpenGL requirement so he can't use the OGL plugin either.

It helps to read the requirements to see if your system is even capable of running the emulator. You wouldn't try running Crysis on a Pentium 2/3 with IGP chrome graphics/3dfx Voodoo, and 64 - 128 MB of ram, same applies to resource intensive emulators such as Dolphin and Pcsx2.

I'm sorry to say that you need a whole new system to run Dolphin, your current system blows complete moose chunks.
