Excuse me, but I need help on how to stop my emulator from freezing. What happens is it freezes as soon as it starts playing the ISO. I've tried two games, but they haven't gone past at least 3 seconds before freezing. In fact, it just freezes within 1 second or opening it. I have the configurations set according to their best settings, I have the missing plugins, but I now just need it to stop freezing when it starts. It's not a 0FPS where it keeps going and sound continues, it's just a flat freeze, but it still responds. How would I get it to continue? (If it helps, my games I'm trying to play are Chrono Trigger and Legend of Mana.

1. Dolphin revision?
2. PC Specs (might be necessary)?

Is this a joke topic? Moving to Delfino Plaza...
Also, Mednafen rocks for PSX emulation. Check it out. 10-13-2012, 02:02 PM
This is not a joke. x.x If it wasn't a joke, I'd be playing by now. It just freezes up when it starts, just as I said.

Yeah but, these are the Dolphin forums, why would you post something like this in the Support forum dedicated to sorting out Dolphin specific problems :/ It'd be different if we were some place like ngemu.
Try a different emulator. epsxe 1.7 is old as dirt when it comes software. You may not have realized this, but they recently started development again (after 4 years, yeah) and 1.8.0 is out. Have a look at alternatives as well. Mednafen might be little too technical for some users, but PCSX-R is compatible with epsxe's plugin (for the most part). They're all more up to date than espxe 1.7. 10-13-2012, 03:10 PM
I am back and the outcome is still the same for PSX and the ePSXe, I've even tried each and every graphics plugin, but no good. It always freezes upon starting. x.x Does this mean the ISO is not working properly?
Dump your game again to get a new ISO, download a tool that can generate MD5 hashes, get the hash of your new ISO and compare it to the entry on a database like Redump.org. If they match, the dump is good and there's something wrong with your settings. If they don't keep dumping your game.
Also, it's pretty hard to help you without knowing what settings you're using. Just like how we ask users here to provide that info for Dolphin, provide us with screenshots of your ePSXe settings (all of them). |
