The i5 with the k is unlocked (That means, you can overclock it as much as you can)

I'll go and post links soon, and everything would be updated. Big Grin Understandable. Merely a suggestion, nothing more. Not sure I would go that high unless he's a pc gamer. But yes that video card is very weak, especially compared to the standards set by your other hardware.
Quote:Updated the first post. Current thoughts: CPU: Fine, unless you want to overclock. If you want to overclock then grab a 2500k and an aftermarket cooler. Video card: Grossly underpowered. Go for at least a 6770. Power supply: Although 500 watts is probably enough it's a good idea to future proof and grab a 600 watt just in case. CD/DVD drive: Fine Motherboard: Get a P67 from asus, not an H67 Case: Fine, cheap as hell and I personally would want something better but if you're on a budget it's fine. Memory: Get at least DDR3 1600MHz, it only costs $5-10 more. Hard drive: Get a black edition from western digital or a samsung spinpoint F3. I would especially recommend the spinpoint F3.

sixor Wrote:that gpu LOLLLLLLLLLLLL The forums are going wonky right now on the computer I'm using, which is a public computer. Anyways....Why not we get an Ivy Bridge pc and a WiiU while we're at it? I'm on a bit of a budget right now because I'm working my way towards getting the parts for the computer, and I want the computer to be around $500-$700 (around the price range of a cheap gaming laptop). NaturalViolence Wrote:Current thoughts: Question....Would I still be able to turbo boost with an H67 board with a 2500 (not k) Core i5? Also, why a spinpoint F3? I have no idea what kind of hard drive that is. 06-10-2011, 06:33 AM

Easy enough. And this was a quick and dirty build without hunting for deals.
