Enable auto-fire on a XBox 360 Controller?

I am playing Gradius Reborn (Wii Ware), and it's not very much fun to constantly hammer down the buttons for shooting.

Does anybody know, if it's possilbe to enable auto-fire on the XBox 360 Controller?
