Hello intelligent computer people.

First off let me start by saying I'm an idiot... I'm that kind of guy that needs everythinf broken dkwn Barney style. I'm not too great with computers, though I love PC gaming compared to consoles.... So I'm going to apologize in advanced for my ignorance.

I downloaded the most current version of Dolphin.
4.0-1242 I'm pretty sure.

The only game I want to play is the Residenr Evil remake, and I keep getting two different error messeges.

I am currently at work so I cannor post the errors, but after some searching at least one of the errors is common. The first error is the outdated GPU. Now I know the GPU requirment SSE(?) 2 or 3...and pixel shader 3? I think.
Well I thought my GTX 660 met those requirements?
Is it my CPU? I know its on the weaker side but i should get some playability.
The second error i get concerns MSAA. The messege tells me not to force MSAA on Dolhpin- this is when i use Opengl.
If I use D3d and start the game nothing happens.
ah hell I dunno I'm friggin dumber than spit, and overall confused.

Am I just SOL on using this emulater?

Any help at all is most appreciated, and I am sorry for my poor intelligence.

Saw your computer specs in your profile. A Phenom II processor should work reasonably OK. I'm running another system on an overclocked Phenom II x4 and it works fast enough for most GC games.

Are your video card drivers up to date?
Are you really running Windows Vista x86 as in your profile? Not sure how compatible Vista is... I have not run it in years.

Try to run the latest stable version of Dolphin: 4.0.2 rather than development builds.

Let us know what your error messages are.

Do games other than RE remake work?
Do other D3d applications work on your system, such as other games?

Thank you for the reply!

I have not tried to run any othee games, I will try that.

Also I was not aware that the version i am using is beta(I think thats what it is?) I will use a more stable versioin. In the beggining i just went with the most recent one added.

Yes I am running Vista x84. I know, I need to switch to 7/8 but I'm too poor to afford it right now.

When I get home I will try all thw things you advised me to do. Again I really appreciate the assist Smile.

You guys are friendly.

Well I downloaded the most current stable build and lo and behold it ran with no errors.

A bit laggy and the audio is kinda whacked, but I remember seeing a setup guide for Resident Evil that should help... though I know my CPU probably wont run it 100% smoothly but its more than playable.

Thanks again fir the help it was much MUCH appreciated. Go figure my non observant butt wouldn't notice I had tue wrong build....

Thanka again.

Stay frosty!

The latest dev builds have an accuracy improvement that decreases speed more on Nvidia cards with OpenGL. Switch over to D3D
