Actually that does make a lot of sense, considering the number of reads/writes programs make to it every minute.

One of the following may work, but if you have a program installed that is not allowing Dolphin the memory it needs such as an old version of Kaspersky then your only choice is to uninstall said program.

Fix 1:

Right click the "dolphinwx.exe" icon and click on "Properties"

Select the "Compatibility" tab, then under "Input Settings" check the "Turn off advanced text services for this program" box and then press "OK"

Restart Dolphin and try again.

Fix 2:

Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties".

Click on the "Advanced" tab and click on the "Settings" button under "Performance".

Click on the "Advanced" tab and click the "Change" button under "Virtual Memory".

Select the drive that contains your game .iso

Select "Custom Size" and enter in at least 1534 (MB) for the "Initial Size" field and at least 3048 (MB) for the "Maximum Size" field.

Click "OK" on all of the windows that were opened. You will then be prompted to prompt you to restart. Do it, then try dolphin again.

it worked for me Smile

dude youre an idiot n00b. the ati memory leak is a known issue to ati, its a problem with their drivers not dolphin. just do some research and u can find that out for yourself. next time search the forums and google. this thread should be closed on account of n00b stupidity, 3 pages isnt needed when u could have fixed the problem after the 2nd reply. good day sir.

Actually it kind of is a problem with Dolphin..

Yes it's true that ATI's drivers are sub par and usually of poor quality, but according to reports Dolphin is the only emulator that suffers from this. PC games generally don't suffer from memory leaks either, Dolphin along with maybe a select few emulators exhibit these memory leaks.

It has to do something with the coding in Dolphin and the ATI drivers, but it isn't the sole fault of the ATI drivers since other emulators don't exhibit this same behavior. So it's an ATI and Dolphin issue and both are equally at fault. Wink

Been browsing here for solutions to my own issues when i noticed this.
I had the same issue for a little while, and i racked my brain trying to figure it out, but eventually did.

I have no idea why but when i disabled my download manager, this hasn't happened again yet.
Noticed nobody said anything about DL managers, so i thought i'd throw that out there, maybe it'll help, maybe not.
Don't ask why that worked for me, i have no clue, it just did.
