Emulator controls are stuck in the corner

I just downloaded dolphin and got the super smash bros brawl ISO, and when I load it all of the controls are in the top left corner. I can't find a place to set the controls. Please help

Touch near the top of the screen to enable the menu, then you can configure the controls, and then edit the overlay. Then you can drag them to wherever you want.

While in the game, click the in game menu -> configure controls -> edit layout.

They are all bunched together so I cant really do anything

Try and hit your recent apps button and then immediately return to Dolphin. A blue ribbon-bar with the "three-dots menu" should appear. Here you can do all sorts of cool stuff, like rearranging the control layout

Ok, so I've finally arranged them, but now none of the buttons work

Super Smash Bros. Brawl should work with Wii Remotes and GameCube controllers, and I've used both within Dolphin in it this week... so it should work.

GameCube controllers over OTG or using mayflash or some bluetooth solution?
