Here's the gist of what cybcrash said:

Hello, I had a little question for the developers. Upon starting the game, it asks if a Rumble Pak is to be used or not; personally, it doesn't matter whether I pick yes or no in the game, given that my controller doesn't have rumble, so I pick no. However, it would be logical, in choosing no and having the Stone of Agony, to have a small icon appear in the corner and flash with a small sound to replace the Rumble Pak. Is this possible?

This is what I said:

To respond to you, I would say that what you're looking for is impossible unless someone makes a modification of the emulated game. Maybe Nintendo could have done it, but they didn't. However, in Ocarina of Time 3D, they did exactly as you described. When you're close to a Skulltula, the Shard of Agony makes a sound because the 3DS doesn't have a vibration function.
In short, perhaps the developers could make a modification to Dolphin, but it seems more probable to me that an N64 hacker might make such a mod. Then you would be able to replace the ROM with the modified one.

If you want to have an icon displayed instead of the Rumble for the Stone of Agony, you should try out the Redux patch. The Patcher64+ Tool offers support to patch the US Virtual Console version of Ocarina of Time to include the Redux patch. There is no such patch for the GameCube version. You might try to extract the GameCube disc and replace it with a Redux patched ROM, but that might end up not working too well, since the GameCube ROM version is quite different that the one used for the Virtual Console.
