Hello everyone !

I have tried to play Spectrobes Origins on Dolphin with an emulated Wiimote. First I tried with my PS4 Controller that works fine for GC and some other Wii Game. But the thing appears when I need to 'swing' in the tutorial of the game. I have made a lot of research and it seems that you can't emulate 'swing' with a controller. So I have tried to use my keyboard but the same problem appears. Does anyone know if their is a solution or what is the problem ?

I've been able to get past the tutorial, i just binded everything to right stick pointed up (except movement) i think it has to tilt or something else too, it works consistently-ish, funny thing is, i dont have to point it upwards, i have to do a kind of quarter circle motion for it to register. Though the game is still unplayable after the tutorial, as when you have to bring your first spectrobe to life, you have to play them music, by swinging both the wiimote and the nunchuck. I can get the wiimote to swing, but not the nunchuck. I've tried for maybe 30 minutes straight, without it working. I'm using an xbox 360 wired controller btw. This is the game i want to play the most, but i'm unable to Sad

Easiest way to fix this is by using a Wiimote and nunchuck in Bluetooth pass through mode.

None of us have a Wiimote and nunchuck though.......... is there any alternative?

Play it on a Wii/Wii U, for which you need a Wiimote and nunchuck as well?

It is well known that there are some motion actions that are very hard to emulate on a standard controller, nothing can really be done about it.

I do see on your control configuration that you haven't even bound the Nunchuck swing to any button, thus that will never register. Also the configuration dialog boxes are from quite an old version of Dolphin, so you might have more luck by downloading and using the latest dev-version which you can find at the top of the download page.

I try new Dolphin 5.0 & I find that the emulated wiimote is less good than really old Dolphin build.

After a little search (https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-sw...es+origins), it seems that you can use the build from J.Peterson for the swing. He/she use the build 3.0-243. But the only version you can find is 3.0-410. Also, if you check this one (https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-wi...es-origins), the only "problem" is for the special attack. But I'm sure there's a way to do it.

Between, if it works great, it would be nice to have your profile.

5.0-stable is not "new" far from, it's somewhere around 2 years old now. Please download the latest dev-version of Dolphin and try again, you can find it on the TOP of the download page.

So, I test this game with Dolphin 3.0 build 410 (J. Peterson) & this seem to be another playable game with a gamepad because of Peterson. That guy really did an amazing job!

Settings in Dolphin:
Use D3D11 & Xaudio. Also, use a gamepad (keyboard & mouse not good for the aiming).

This game is weird. Even if you don't need the MotionPlus, some move need fast action wiimote like with Skyward Sword.

Musical note:
rose note, nunchuk swing down = Nunchuk Thrust Backward + Thrust Forward + Thrust Backward
blue note, wiimote swing down = Wiimote rotate pitch Backward + Forward + Backward
You need to do it really fast.

Using the hammer:
It's the same thing than the blue note. To make it more simple, you can use a software to emulate this combination of button for only one button on the gamepad.

Special attack:
1) Press Wiimote Bouton B
2) For charging, hold Wiimote rotate pitch backward
3) To release press, at the same time, nunchuk swing Left & wiimote rotate pitch backward

Like mstreurman said, you´re better off using actual controllers (Wiimote + Nunchuck).

They´re not that expensive.

Keep in mind that 3.0 is NOT supported by us anymore (hasn't been supported since 3.5 came out 5.5 years ago), and that specific custom build has never been supported by the forums, it was supported only in it's own thread (if that even existed).
If you have any issues with running anything in that build: You're on your own.
