Emulated wiimote not working please help!

I have configured the emulated wiimote to an xbox controller (and the inputs do appear in the box so the controller works), but when I open up a game for the wii, the inputs don't register within the game (they still read in the edit keys section though). I tried to alt + f5/f6 but that did not work either. Any suggestions?
