Me and a friend have been trying to play Super Mario Bros Wii on netplay for a while now. However, whenever the game starts our controllers are disconnected. We both use gamepads under Emulated Wiimotes, I use an Xbox 360 Controller. The problem is that as soon as the game launches, Wiimote 1 under the wii options is changed from "Emulated Wiimote" to "none". This problem is non unique to super Mario bros because the same problem persists when playing Super Smash bros brawl with an emulated wiimote. Gamecube emulation controls work fine though.
The problem does not seem to lie with my partner. To further test the problem I played netplay solo, and even though there was nobody in the game but me, wiimote 1 was again reset to "none" at launch, same as Brawl. Playing either game singleplayer without starting up netplay works perfectly on both sides, the controller is not disconnected and reset and input is received perfectly.
We have tried playing on 4.0-2119 the latest as of this posting, 4.0-2019, 4.0-1816, and 4.0-652, all with the same results. We have followed all instructions to play netplay, such as disabling dual core, ect. and we have the same settings, as well as identical Iso's.
I have seen people playing Super Mario Bros on netplay before, so is the problem that emulated wiimotes have no support, and am I wasting my time?
