Emulated Wiimote - buttons not responding?

Playing dokapon kingdom and when i press 1/2 they work fine with the binds i have but buttons a/b dont. Sometimes i would have to press the z key on my keyboard upwards of 8 times for it to recognize that it has been pressed ingame.
