Emulated guitar controller

Hello!

I'm trying to play Guitar Hero Smash Hits and Rock Band 3 with an emulated wiimote and guitar. I've selected "guitar" under "extension" and configured all the buttons. However, once I'm playing the games I can't hit any notes. The games recognize the controller as a guitar, and when I hit the keys the buttons light up as they should, but I still can't hit the notes.

The only thread I found about this issue is this one.

Oddly enough, in Guitar Hero Smash Hits there's a beginner mode where you only strum, and this works perfectly.

I'm on 5.0-103.

So when you hold the fret key of the right color and then strum, it's as if you never strummed? Does strumming up and down work in the menus?
