Hello, guys! Can I use my soundking edrum set(with USB/MIDI connection) on Dolphin? I tried to connect it, but Dolphin doesn't see it like controller. Or maybe I need ROCK BAND MIDI PRO ADAPTER?

There are two ways:
1. This method assumes that you already have some kind of way to map drum hits to keyboard keys or virtual gamepad buttons. (I don't know enough about USB drum kits to know what you could use in order to do that.) Set up an emulated Wii Remote in Dolphin with a drum extension controller, and map your drums to that drum controller. This works with all Guitar Hero/Rock Band games other than the original Rock Band, but you will not be able to use all the cymbals in Rock Band 3's Pro Drums mode. 2. Use a Rock Band MIDI adapter and set up Dolphin for USB passthrough. This only works with Rock Band 3, just like on a real console, but it works well with Pro Drums unlike the other option. 01-15-2019, 01:28 AM

Maybe I will make a video later but basically, I have mapped midi note on events to keyboard key presses down and and note off events to key release up in translator pro software. Added a slight 5ms delay on key up action. And it works. Opened dolphin controller settings, hit all pads and they do register as keyboard key presses. Tested, works great in Guitar Hero Smash Hits. But not so well in in Rock Band 3 as pro kit. I have managed to map dolphin's emulated guitar hero drums properly to rb pro drums with only one green cymbal and you can play fine.. but it drops a few random notes during a song at random.. or maybe sometimes registers as double note for no reason. I think might be an issue with drum sensitivity or dolphin itself.. as similar issue happens even with the officiall RB3 midi adapter when mapped through dolphins emulated Guitar hero drum set. Will be testing USB passthrough later. Maybe it will work better. |
