No it didn't. That was much better than any of the other conferences so far.

Wait, you actually like that nintendo land stuff?
.. I'm getting old.
Well that was very disappointing... Ubisoft's presentation was probably the best this year.
But apparently Nintendo has a software presentation tomorrow. I thought it was 3DS only but who knows. 06-06-2012, 04:48 AM

That looked a lot better than everything Microsoft had to offer, most of Sony and Ubisoft too. They did milk it too much. Should've given more attention to other games. (ZombiU....) I was extremely disappointed by all three press conferences. So far this is without a doubt the most disappointing E3 show that I can remember. The last of us, watch dogs, and pikmin 3 all looked interesting and that was about it for me. Microsofts show made me cringe in pain repeatedly and was somehow even worse than last years. I kind of expected the sony and microsoft conferences to suck and be full of the same casual pandering that they did last year so that wasn't that surprising. However I was actually expecting nintendos conference to be very good since they are releasing a new console and they have produced consistently impressive e3 shows over the last few years. Yet the only interesting thing that they showed was a few minutes of pikmin 3 footage. All three companies basically got up on stage and said "we don't have any games worth showing you so we're going to spend the next hour marketing gimmicks instead, enjoy usher/wonderbook".
Never have I agreed with RPS so much: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/06/...ng-i-know/ Quote:What are you smoking? But they actually had good games to show off. Which is all anybody really cares about. Who gives a shit about the host?

I have to say I am pretty disappointed with Nintendo's conference, mainly because I was expecting a announcement for a game and what they gave us was NintendoLand. NintendoLand doesn't look bad but I was expecting a game that wasn't a "tech demo" to be announced. Another thing to mention is what is Retro Studios working on? They've been keeping quiet for a long time now (they did some work on Mario Kart 7 but that couldn't have taken the 2 years of free time they had after DKCR) and I was expecting them to announce something today. I can pray they announce something tomorrow but I just don't see it happening.
Edit: I have to agree with NV on this one because none of the conferences were really amazing. Watch Dogs looks pretty cool but nothing surprised me or made me say "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!" I don't remember any E3 that didn't make me do that at least once. NV Wrote:I was extremely disappointed by all three press conferences.Agreed. Nintendo could've easily turned this into their best conference if they had released more info about the Wii U, and if they had added some of the classic games (Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Donkey Kong, Smash Bros, etc) as a great surprise. I really missed the onstage gameplay/demo's... NV Wrote:But they actually had good games to show off. Which is all anybody really cares about. Who gives a shit about the host? What, so you're fine listening to these people for an hour? This was their biggest chance but they blew it. |
