I'm looking to get this emulator up and running without hacking my wii because it is at 4.0 and it seems like a lot of work. I own a lot of gamescube games and some wii games and as i search around the forums i have read that there are certain lg dvd players that you can run the original game disks from. . is it documented anywhere which dvd drives these are? if anyone has one or knows of one i would love a link to a place where i can buy one, such as newegg or tigerdirect. Thanks You.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, i couldn't decide which section this would go under.

As far as I know you need an LG-8164b, LG-8163b, LG-8162b or LG-8161b to rip Gamecube or Wii games but playing from this drive, I have no clue.

you can't play directly from any pc drive (or any drive for that matter). You can, however, rip via your GC's drive, Wii's drive, or one of the aforementioned LG drives, and play the disc image from your hard drive.

Alternatively you can burn your ripped image to a disc, and then play it with dolphin via any PC drive. The important part here is that only backup discs will work for this, not originals.

Furthermore, do not talk about downloading. You will be banned.

Topdogelec is correct but even though they are badged as LG drives they are built by Hitachi (As mine states) so you can search for either.
